How to Rotate PDF Pages Permanently
Everyone has hit this: you rotate a sideways PDF in your reader, it looks fine, you close it — and the attachment you send still opens sideways for the recipient. That's because the reader rotated the *view*, not the file. Fixing it for good means writing the rotation into the PDF itself.
Step by step
- Open the rotate tool and choose the PDF.
- Pick the correction — 90° clockwise for pages scanned left-side-up, 90° counter-clockwise for right-side-up, 180° for upside down.
- Apply and download. The rotation is now a property of the file, honoured by every reader, browser and portal.
- If only some pages are wrong (a mixed batch scan), use the visual organizer instead and rotate individual thumbnails.
Tips that save a retry
- Rotation is lossless — nothing is re-rendered, so quality is untouched.
- Check the first AND last page after rotating a scan; duplex scanners flip backs in a different direction than fronts.
